In order to be a successful model, a lift truck needs to be powerful enough to last in all working conditions for many hours of use. It must be able to move loads effectively and quickly too. The machinery must also be both ergonomically correct and comfortable for the operator.
The Yale powertrain is rugged and reliable. It has to be powerful enough to continually deliver amazing strength through its computer-managed transmission and engine. It offers state-of-the-art clutch packs combined with robust gears and extremely tough shafts. The drive, steer axle, transmission and engine are all isolated to reduce vibration and noise inside of the operator's compartment.
GM & Mazda Gas & LP Engines:
GM's gas engines and Mazda's LP engine use cast iron blocks to promote long life. These kinds of machines offer an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system that requires minimum adjustment or repair. These engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats that reduce wear.
Cummins and Yanmar Diesel Engines:
Inside the Cummins and Yanmar diesel engines, a high compression ratio offers excellent torque. Remarkable fuel consumption is offered by efficient fuel systems.
Regular Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The electronic powershift transmission is standard on the majority of machines. It features gears that are 15% stronger and shafts that give resistance when driving on rough terrain. The strong clutch packs offer 3 times the life of previous packs. Last of all, there is electronic inching available that adjusts automatically so as to decrease maintenance requirements by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
The Techtronix Transmission utilizes computer-controlled power reversal to extend the life of the tires, to eliminate shock loading and increase durability. As well, the auto deceleration feature reduces both break pedal usage and break wear.
Drive Axle:
The Drive Axle is engineered for added strength with its full floating, brake drum mounting axle shaft and the strong ring and pinion gears. This specific component also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes that are basically maintenance free and entirely sealed against contamination.
Steer Axle:
In order to protect the steer cylinder for debris and damage, the Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design. This Steer Axle also has a fixed-length tie rods which could add more durability and stability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist front to back and side-to-side forces. In addition, cast ductile iron axle reduces wear and increases toughness.
As part of Yale's standard packages, they have included lots of safety features and ergonomic features. These equipment will handle tough environments, while keeping the operator comfortable and safe for the duration of their shift.
