Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck usually goes by other names like: Walkie or Walkie-Rider. These pieces of machinery are essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions as well as "Walkie" models.
The walkie type as the name implies, is made to allow the operator to walk along the machine as they lift and transport cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of loads over extended distances in manufacturing applications and warehouses. They are extremely maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to lift and move tall or unstable loads because there are no safety cages on these models. A rider might be the perfect answer if you are searching for an inexpensive way of moving loads from one place to another. If though, you are required to move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the best choice.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machinery is particularly made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the load and the operator in an effort to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are typically very narrow aisle vehicles that can work in aisles of less than six feet. They are very handy pieces of machine during physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
