Terex Knuckle Boom Lifts

Terex Knuckle Boom Lifts

Telescoping Boom Lifts
Telescopic booms are large industrial machinery designed with a straight boom arm that is extendable. The boom is typically located on a rotating turntable. The telescoping boom lifts are usually utilized for jobs which require tasks to be done at heights that exceed other types of lifts. Like for instance, employees are able to carry out exterior repairs or renovations on medium sized buildings but using these lifts as opposed to having the additional work of setting up a pulley system or an outside elevator.

The boom lift bucket usually only holds a single employee. These buckets are more suitable to specific jobs like for example electrical repair, as opposed to window washing or general maintenance. These lifts are available in electric and gas configurations and are offered with both outdoor and indoor tires.

Scissor Lifts
Underneath the scissor lifts work platform are the cross braces in which the equipment gets its name. Once the braces move together it pushes the platform straight up. Because these types of machines should be positioned directly beneath the work location, compared to boom lifts, these units are way more limited in their use.

The scissor lift normally has a larger platform which enables the operator to control the lift to access a bigger work area when the lift platform is raised off the ground. With scissor lifts, all-terrain capability is less of a concern with these models, as they need to sit on flat ground in order to be utilized. Scissor lifts are ideal for being used for window installation or cladding, because they provide the personnel with the desired mobility; they are also a good alternative for window cleaning applications or exterior repairs.

Boom Trucks vs. Cranes
Bucket trucks, cherry pickers and boom trucks each refer to the class a kind of utility vehicle used specially for vertical work. Typically, these types of trucks have a cab. It is here where the driver sits and operates the equipment. There is a bucket for where the employee can stand along with a winch for lifting and an actuator arm for raising the boom.

Cherry pickers can lift personnel up to heights which were previously inaccessible. The cranes function is to lift both heavy materials and equipment for one place to another. There are a variety of different crane types that can carry out various purposes. Both of these different kinds of equipment excel at different tasks and are suitable for specific applications and accomplishing particular jobs.
