Skyjack Manlifts

Skyjack Safety
A scissor lift is a particular piece of industrial machine that is used for "positioning personnel, their equipment and their tools," according to Skyjack. Anyone who is getting ready to operate this kind of machine has to familiarize themselves with the suggested safety and operational measures recommended by the manufacturer in order to stay safe prior to trying to utilize this machinery. It can be devastating to the operator themselves and any bystanders resulting in severe injuries if the safety recommendations are not followed.

Area
In the best scenario, scissor lifts perform at optimum levels on completely level ground. The area needs to be inspected and cleared of any loose debris before driving a scissor lift over a certain terrain. To be able to lessen the risks of the scissor lift tipping over and probably causing the operator to fall from his seat. It is better to stay away from holes or steep grades while operating. Bystanders must also remain aware and stay clear of the operating scissor lift so as to ensure they do not get run over.

Inspection
Prior to attempting to operate a scissor lift, the user must thoroughly check all the integral parts of the machinery. The operator could see if all the parts are working correctly before the task is initiated, a functional test is performed while the lift is retracted. It is recommended to perform a daily inspection on this equipment prior to the shift starting and several places even want an inspection to happen at the end of the shift too. Various businesses have different policies in place to maintain safety.

Part of the inspection needs to be inspecting the tires. These parts obviously add to the scissor lift's movability and also provide the machine with a solid foundation. A faulty or worn tire can blow and throw the operator from their place on top of scissor lift.
