Reach Truck
A reach truck is utilized to stock up pallets of goods, supplies, and to keep storage places tidy. The reach truck is available in several models: the double-deep reach, straddle reach and the stand-up reach.
The simplest type is the stand-up. The truck forks slide beneath the pallet and move it to the right storage place. The forks slide the pallet into position. This particular type of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are one pallet deep.
Ideal for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, which is similar to the stand-up, is usually utilized. This model has telescopic forks intended to put the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when one more pallet must go into the same shelving section.
The additional advantage of straddle reaches is that they can both slide underneath the pallet and grasp the sides also. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in many directions. This model is ideal in situations where goods will not be damaged if the pallet sides are grabbed.
Within nearly all warehouses, there are normally more than one type of reach truck. Textile firms and manufacturing facilities utilize various kinds of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not difficult to utilize and can make the most of available storage space while increasing production.
