Haulotte Aerial Work Platforms

Haulotte Aerial Work Platforms

The business Pinguely-Haulotte was recently named the Haulotte Group in 2005. The name change was the first time in 124 years the name has not included Pinguely. The Haulotte Group is known for making telescopic work platforms, articulated work platforms, trailer mounted work platforms, vertical mast-work platforms and scissor lifts.

On July 24th, 2008 the Haulotte Group acquired Bil-Jax, who was the US' biggest scaffold manufacturer. At present, Haulotte Group has one plant in Spain, three plants in France, one in Romania, near the City of Pitesti. There is a new plant that opened in the winter of 2008. This factory is 1 km away from the existing factory near Pitesti within the County of Arges. The plant is referred to as Arges II. There are also two plants in the United States, the former Bill-Jax.

Pinguely
Alexandre Pinguely established the Pinguely Company in 1881 in Lyon, France. At first, they constructed steam engines. The business eventually evolved into making machinery. During the year 1892, they supplied a locomotive to the Chemin de Fer de St Victor a Thizy.

The company provided 7 steam engines to the Voiron-Saint-Beron railway. Pinguely was not considered a main steam engine manufacturer when it comes to numbers produced. The company provided a steam locomotive to the Chemin de Fer du Haut-Rhone in 1930 and by 1932, Pinguely began making steam shovels. Production of steam locomotives was stopped and the company started focusing instead on mobile cranes and manufacturing earthmoving machines instead.

Haulotte
Arthur Hualotte established the beginnings of Haulotte in 1924, when it was referred to as Ateliers de Construction A. Haulotte. This business specialized in the production of derricks, aerial platforms and mobile cranes.

Pinguely-Haulotte
Manufacturing it was decided to be sub-contracted to Pinguely-Haulotte, who was to be responsible for the engineering and marketing, research, design and development. All products were abandoned by Saubot so that the company can focus on self-propelled aerial work platforms.
