During 1966, Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries. During that time, he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift which functioned on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" which was used to lower and raise the hoist. This device greatly impressed a lot of customers and hence, the name was established.
Genie has moved into numerous new markets, because the demand for lifts and work platforms grew. Over time, when the requirements for new equipment to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in numerous new markets. Like for example, Genie went into manufacturing articulated booms, light towers, man-lifts, stick booms and telehandlers.
Because of the economic recession during the start of the 2000s, Genie decided to acquire a partner who had the same values. They partnered up along with Terex Corporation. This company has a history acquiring equipment manufacturers throughout the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was only decided after the first few years following the sale. Hence, all Genie equipment continue to be marketed under the Genie brand name.
The company takes great pride in listening and taking advise from their customers. Genie has always been continually devoted to improving the efficiency and quality in addition to minimizing wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on offering outstanding support. These are the very work disciplines that have made Genie a trusted brand name over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machines.
Genie's Bi-Energy and DC machinery are emission-free, quiet machines capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the machinery has to be driven significant distances, like for example in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator along with the benefits of a 48V DC machine.
Telescopic booms offer greater horizontal reach, as opposed to any of the various aerial platforms. These equipment are great for small areas or limited access areas in all kinds of settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to offer utmost productivity. These machines provide the drive speed and supreme traction you require in order to travel around the job area and work site.
