Choosing Between Pneumatic and Cushion Tires

3 Check the type of terrain. Soft cushion tires are constructed for even grounds while pneumatic tires are best for rough terrain. Cushion tires, if utilized on uneven ground, can cause the forklift to get stuck as they are set lower. Pneumatic tires perform well on packed stones, crushed concrete and gravel but not on potholed surfaces and really rough terrain.
4 Make sure you know the space limitations. Forklifts used mostly indoors must be able to pivot in tight areas. Cushion tires work better than pneumatic tires in those types of situations.
